Nina’s grandmother Ekaterina Poltorackaya, one of the best representatives of Russian-Georgian piano school, was a student of Aloiz Mizandari (the founder of Georgian piano school). Ekaterina Poltorackaya graduated from Vienna Conservatory and spent many years touring in Europe as part of trio with Czech musicians Polivka & Kubelik”. Upon her return to Georgia she dedicated herself to teaching in Tbilisi. Many celebrated Russian musicians were her students: Odissey Dimitriadi (conductor), S. Mshvelidze (composer), Sulhan Cincadze (composer) and many others. |
Nina’s mother, Irina Kherj, followed the family tradition and became a professional musician and piano teacher. Among her students there are many talented performers who took prizes and awards in international competitions of all levels: Alexandre Geladze,Teona Baramidze, Nino Nishnianidze, Diana Khachaturyan, Lika Kobahidze, Ekaterina Sanikidze, Tinatin Culadze etc. |

Nina’s uncle, Konstantin Sirounian, is one of the world’s best pianists. He graduated from Moscow State Conservatory .His teachers were world renowned musicians : Zaak, Flier, Golubovskaya, Khachaturyan.. Konstantin Sirounian spent many years actively touring and teaching music at University of Los Angeles. Now he is educating students of University of Tokyo in Japan revealing them the secrets of Russian musical school’s success. | |
Nina Akhobadze started developing her inherited musical gift being just 7 years old with the help of experienced tutors. In 1985 Nina graduated from a musical school (7 years of studying). She continued her education at a musical college successfully adding another 4 years of musical education to her qualification. In 1989 she became a student of Tbilisi Sate Conservatory in Georgia, which is considered one of the best musical higher educational institutions in Europe. She was in the class of professor Manana Doidjashvili. |

Tbilisi Sate Conservatory gave the world such bright stars as: Tengiz Amiredjibi, Nodar Gabunia, Marina Mdivani, Eliso Virsaladze, Manana Doidjashvili, Alexandre Toradze, Eteri Andjaparidze, Alexandre Korsantia, Eliso Bolkvadze and many others. In 1995 Nina graduated from conservatory with MA of performer and pedagogy. While working in Canada and USA (“Music leaning center“Danbury, Connecticut), Nina also started teaching “Easy way to learn Piano” program, and became an affiliated RCM teacher, which allows her to officially prepare students for RCM Royal Conservatory of Music exams. Having studied the art of piano playing for 16 years and having 20 years of teaching experience, Nina Akhobadze is one of the most qualified professionals in her field, capable of solving tasks of any complexity level. | |
